For guidance

October 5th, 2007

We pray because we need guidance.

In life, we have to make decisions. Whether big or small, important or not these will affect our happines, health and life. Sometimes we may be confused as to what decision to make. In this regard, the example of Jesus helps us know what to do.

One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles
Luke 6:12-13 (NIV)

Jesus Himself prayed when He needed guidance about important decisions, just as He prayed before choosing His disciples, the men who would take the gospel further after His ascension to heaven.

Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.
Psalm 25:5 (NIV)

As we face small and large decisions in our lives, we can always turn to God in prayer and ask for guidance so as to make good decisions. God knows what is best for you.
